I’m a loyal customer of Hobby Lobby since they opened their doors. I have enjoyed the wonderful customer services, in every CA store.

I expected the same moving to ID. I was shocked with how badly I was treated in the Meridian ID store yesterday. I came to buy a bench, found one it didn’t have a price. I found a sales clerk who was helpful and friendly.

She looked and couldn’t find one then checked up above and there was no bench. She said she would look in the furniture book, which she did, found a price $139.00 she said it was $30% off which she said makes it $97.00 give or take a dollar or so. I said I would take it. She put it off to the side and I finished my shopping.

It was time to check out...what a disappointing nightmare, never, was I treated so rudely by a sales clerk, especially in Hobby Lobby. I had a return without receipt, I explained what happened, she looked at me with a blank look, asked to see my license, than phoned in a code. I asked if there was a problem and she said I need to check if we still carry these, rudely. I said yes, you do, rudely she said I have to check.

The whole time rude. A sales clerk confirmed that they indeed carried them. Rudely asked for my current phone number, and current zip code. No expression nothing just plain curt and rude.

I proceeded to tell her I had a bench held along with a frame. Where? She says, up front bothered that she had to walk over and check. The clerk looked over and said “no price-it has no price.

I was a bit surprised the other clerk didn’t tag it. I mentioned to her, she could look in the furniture book, she looked at me like I was from Mars! What are you talking about she said... “ I don’t know anything about a furniture book.

I told her the manager told the other clerk to look it up. Train all your clerks to know the same info, I’m thinking. At this point I proceed to tell her I think she is treating me rudely and I want her to please get the manager. Do you think she cared...no!

Not a blink or I’m sorry mama something to make the customer feel at ease. She asked me if I knew who helped me ... I couldn’t remember, I had been in there awhile shopping . Finally the manager looks at the “furniture book” comes back with a price of $179.

minus 30% off making it $139 he says. He too was rude when I told him I was quoted $97 or so. He proceeded to tell me no absolutely not. We go round and round a bit.

I said I would take it anyway but there was no apology or anything. I was treated like I was trying to steal it. My main complaint here is the rude rude unprofessional behavior from both of them. I know the days of “the customer is always right” are gone but be regretful for the mistake maybe offer another 5% off something.

These two employees need customer service training in the worse way. The transaction continued and I did not take the rest of the things, of course this put the clerk out. I did not want to spend anymore money there. I have never written something like this but I have never been treated so rudely.
